How to Find Job in Odesk.com

This is my continuation topic on HOW TO BE A VIRTUAL ASSISTANT (VA)

Let just say you finish making your profile in Odesk, you have already polish it (with your pictures, skills, etc) , you have taken all the exams, and you are ready to apply for a job.

How to Find Job in Odesk?
Finding job, look at the top of your odesk website, there "Find Providers & job" then you click that and it will come out all the jobs (there are lot of criteria like lets click the Administrative Support)

Administrative Support they categorize each job availability and how many so you click which category you want to apply. So when you click Data Entry. All of the Data Entry job ad will show. Just a reminder, when you apply a job, be sure its an odesk verified payor. How do you know? Well, when you click the job ad , the post will come out. At the top, if its color green (odesk verified payor) then this company's credit card is reliable.
Now, odesk made some few changes, you can find it after you click DATA entry and when you see the job ad (the summary below is buyer- Money (green color) that means this buyer has history and the star means its the feed back from the employee/provider.       Also look at their job history, if they have hired ppl and pay their employees so you will know that this company is paying their employee or not, there is also feedbacks from the employee (you can check that by clicking on the ad and scroll down- it has all the information need, the buyer/employer required - some buyer would required that the provider/applicant have odesk history, has a certain certificate).          Pls. note: do not work if they are not odesk verified payor (you can see a green color, near the apply button -yellow color), some employer would ask for free sample, do not accept. Either they hire you or they dont.     There are 2 types of payment (fixed and hourly rate):       1- fixed (this are between you and the employer- the salary they are gonna pay u which both parties agreed upon, but this is risky, possible the employer might not pay you so it is not advisable. And also you dont know what the project is all about, it might take you 20hrs to finish and they pay you only $3 for the whole project)       2- hourly rate (this one is what we usually apply for. the client pay us by hr. It is just like working in the company we have work diary, they have records thru snap shot)          OK, when you applied a job to alot of company (if you have pass the exam- 5 to 8 exams, you get to apply 20times to different job ad). Some company will said, end candidacy coz they have other person that they would like to hire, etc. But remember, just continue to apply, every day just apply 2-5 minimum (be consistent. it took me 2weeks before I get the job, i apply more than 30-40 application)..         Also dont dive or lower your salary price. Remember, we are payed due to our skills. Only desperate dive down their prices and the client can see that, thats not good. If you lower your $ per hr, possible you get to hired a thrifty company, or strict boss so charge what you think you deserve to payed at.  The next thing when the client is interested to your resume, odesk will notify you for an interview, odesk will give you the clients detail info such as email add, etc. kindly contact asap the client thru email or YM or what the clients instruct you to do.    Then after interview the client will tell you if you are hired, etc.  When the client hired you, or you got assignment from the client, the odesk will notify you again. Thats when you download odesk tool or odesk program.  (click the link for more info)  http://www.odesk.com/help/help/using_odesk_tools/odesk_video_tutorials
Each time you log in to odesk tool -to your clients account, odesk will automatically register, there will be snapshot per 10mins and it will record on your work diary, so you, the buyer, odesk will know how much hr. you've been working.      Every monday, there is a cut off, around 8am phil time. So before monday, you hav to check your work diary (if there is changes, additional offline work, add asap coz if not, you have to add that to the next week bill).
To get payment, I have paypal and payoneer. I withdraw the money from odesk account to my paypal then to my savings account, usually it takes 1 week from odesk before they release the money coz they have to review it so its pending then after they release it, I withdraw from my paypal account, for just 15mins. it arrives then later on i withdraw to my savings account, it would take 2-3days to arrive in my saving accounts and 4-7 days on the debit card.      Just remember, that you have to be patient. You have to be consistent in applying the job ads and try to take as much exam if your not doing anything, polish your profile in odesk. There are so many job positions such as virtual assistant, data encoding, customer service, mail response, internet research, etc. they also have programming, design software such as autocad, photoshop, etc.. you have lots of option, it just a question on how you should apply what you have (the skills and talent being as a virtual assistant)...Good luck!      If you have more questions, feel free to email at salami252001@yahoo.com  I would be happy to answer your questions and query:) Happy job hunting!
